The energy was amazing The set was perfectly lined up BIGG$ lit the torch on fire & HIGH2U2 ran with it. By the last song of the set, which was topped off by Gun Talk, ganja was in the air, all eyes were on John & Rah, and everybody was drenched in sweat. Shout out to DIE. He's a very unique artist. He had that all in one type of performance. He had his Akai performance controller and a Dell laptop sitting on one of those foldable tables that you would have at a baby shower in the convention room of ya projects. He had the mic positioned so he can manipulate his sounds, control his computer, and sing at the same damm time. And he had to fight through a challenge too; thats why his set was that much more real. When it was his time to perform the crowd had evaporated into thin air. Everyone had went outside to cyph. It seemed like he was agitated by the fact that even the host of the event had went outside. But as they say 'The Show Must Go On'. After a couple attempts to get his system running correctly, the music started to play. His vocals had a touch a reverb to give it that vibe he needed. The first song starts to play and word spreads to the cyphers outside. . . "DIE's performing". . . as he goes through his first cut the room slowly starts to fill, group by group, people start coming back into the performance area. By this time DIE is deep into his first song and I'm just there, front row, left corner sitting on the speaker. I could feel the bass vibrate throughout my body and the dopeness is filling up the room. Everybody here knows that this is something special. The song is building up and really, the sounds he created are killer, great shit forreal and then when it feels like the beat is about to drop into to something from depths of hell he cuts the music off. In my head I'm like what the fuck? It really sounded like an epic drop was on its way from Saturn and then I had to say it from the first row, left corner of the crowd, Where's the drop? He looks at me and quickly says "Sometimes I don't do drops" . . . wtf??? and then he gets back to his set, plays the next song. All I can tell you is what an epic fucking night at The Trash Bar.
Shoutout to everyone who came and did there thing. Harlem, The Lower, Brooklyn, Bronx, was in the building. It was an epic night for New York City. keep the positivity flowing - TIMT.ME check out DIE @ dieclv.com
